What does the Islam say with regard to those people who carry out violent attacks such as the recent killing of a soldier in Woolwich London in the name of Islam?

With regards to the situation mentioned, it should be clear that Islam categorically and unequivocally considers such actions as prohibited, haram and a grave sin.

Consequently, those people who commit such atrocities are not in any way regarded as representing Islam and the Muslims.
